Mitchell Borden

Mitchell Borden possesses extensive experience in supporting individuals, particularly within educational and community settings. Currently, as a Second Option home worker at YACRO since November 2014, responsibilities include assisting residents with daily routines, meal preparation, and promoting independence and self-advocacy. Simultaneously, since September 2012, Mitchell serves as an African Nova Scotian Student Support Worker for the Halifax Regional School Board and a Student Support Worker for the Halifax Regional Centre for Education, focusing on enhancing students' academic, social, and emotional skills. Prior roles include service as an Infantry Soldier in the Military Reserve Force and a Youth Coordinator with HRM Parks and Recreation, where planning and safety for children's activities were paramount. Educational qualifications include a Child and Youth Care degree from Nova Scotia Community College, completed in 2012.
