Jay’s litigation practice focuses on defending hospitals, physician practice groups, and medical professionals in both state and federal courts. He has successfully defended clients in lawsuits alleging professional negligence, premises liability, and violations of various state and federal statutes, including the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA).
Jay practiced law in Tennessee for four years before joining HPS in 2020. During law school, Jay worked at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s Office of General Counsel, where he researched regulatory issues for the Medical Center. He was also Development Editor for the Environmental Law and Policy Annual Review.
