Hall Prangle & Schoonveld
Marie Ellerton has been representing doctors and hospitals in medical malpractice matters for nearly 30 years. After earning her undergraduate degree from UNLV, Marie started her professional career as a registered nurse in Las Vegas, Nevada at Sunrise Hospital, where she would become the youngest head nurse in that institution’s history, and the first UNLV graduate to be promoted to that position. In 1989, Marie began her education at the University of Idaho School of Law. A single mother, Marie took care of her three boys, attended law school, and worked as a nurse at a local hospital full-time. She graduated in 2 ½ years and would move back to Las Vegas shortly thereafter.
For Marie, clients are not a name or a number on a file. Her clients are men and women who have dedicated their lives to helping and healing others, and she knows the traumatic effect lawsuits can have on their ability to give that desperately needed assistance. Marie’s training as a nurse, clear understanding of the issues facing those in the medical field today, and willingness to work as hard as anyone, have allowed her to be a superior advocate for her clients in their time of need.
