Charlie Karustis

Charlie Karustis is the Chief Development Officer at Halo Energy. Charlie has over 10 years of experience in the renewable energy industry, with a focus on business development and project management. Charlie has a proven track record of successful project development, from due diligence to project completion.

Charlie started their career in the renewable energy industry as a Regional Director, Technical Services for Iberdrola Renewables. In this role, they were responsible for providing technical support to the company's wind and solar projects in the Western US. Charlie was also responsible for managing the construction of new projects and overseeing the operation and maintenance of existing ones.

In 2012, Charlie left Iberdrola Renewables to join Ogin, Inc. as their Senior Director, Business Development. In this role, they were responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities for the company. Charlie was also responsible for leading the negotiation of power purchase agreements and other project contracts.

In 2014, Charlie left Ogin to start their own company, Yavi Energy, LLC. Charlie purchased an under-performing wind farm in Palm Springs and successfully renegotiated the power purchase agreement with Southern California Edison. Charlie was able to increase the plant's availability to 98% within one year of acquisition. Charlie sold the wind farm to a large wind energy developer in 2018 for multiple times what they had invested.

Charlie is currently the Chief Development Officer at Halo Energy, LLC. In this role, they are responsible for leading the development of new renewable energy projects. Charlie is also responsible for overseeing the operation and maintenance of existing projects.

Charlie Karustis graduated from Westfield High School and then went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Boston College.

Charlie Karustis reports to Vin Loccisano, Chief Executive Officer. They work with and Dave Forbes - Chief Operating Offier.
