Jaap van der Spek

Jaap van der Spek currently serves as the Directeur at Stichting Jongerenrechtbanken Nederland and a Strategisch adviseur at Halt since January 2021. Additionally, Jaap is engaged as a member of the Redactie at Proces - BJu tijdschriften and as a Docent at The School of Life Amsterdam. From June 2015 to January 2021, Jaap held the position of Directeur and Programmaleider at Young in Prison (YiP). Previous experience includes roles as Programmamanager & onderzoeker at the Nederlandse School voor Openbaar Bestuur from 2013 to 2015, and Sr. beleidsmedewerker Functioneel Parket at the Openbaar Ministerie from 2011 to 2014. Jaap also lectured in BA Political Science and MA Journalism at the University of Amsterdam from February 2008 to June 2012, and was a Programmamanager & onderzoeker at the Nederlandse School voor Openbaar Bestuur from 2007 to 2011. Jaap holds a Master of Science in Political Science and Government / Political Philosophy and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science, both from the University of Amsterdam.
