Firoj Alam

Firoj Alam has a range of work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Firoj started their professional career at BRAC University in 2001 as a student and remained there until 2006. From 2007 to 2010, they worked as a Research Programmer at CRBLP at BRAC University, where they were responsible for developing a speech synthesizer for Bangla and managing a team. Firoj also worked as a Technical Staff member at CRBLP from 2007 to 2009. In 2010, they joined CRBLP as a Research Fellow and worked there until 2012. Firoj then interned as a Research Intern at Fondazione Bruno Kessler from June to October 2011. Starting from 2011, Firoj Alam pursued their PhD at the University of Trento, where they were a PhD Student until December 2016. Firoj then became a Research Associate at Qatar Computing Research Institute HBKU - Research Complex from September 2016 to January 2018. Finally, Firoj Alam joined Qatar Computing Research Institute in 2018, first as a Postdoctoral Researcher until October 2019, and then as a Scientist from October 2019 onwards.

Firoj Alam has a strong education background in computer science and engineering. Firoj obtained their Bachelor's degree in Computer Science & Engineering from Brac Bishwabidyalaya in 2006. Later, they pursued higher education at Università di Trento, where they completed a Master's degree in Human Language Technology and Interface in 2011. Firoj further excelled in their academic journey by obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Computer Science from the same university in 2016.

Additionally, Firoj Alam received a certification in Machine Learning from Coursera in July 2013, further demonstrating their commitment to professional development in their field. While the start and end years are not provided for their Bachelor of Science and Engineering degree from BRAC University, it is assumed that this degree was earned prior to their enrollment at Brac Bishwabidyalaya.
