Director Of Player Health And Performance at Hamilton Tiger-Cats Football Club

Matt Nichol currently serves as the Director of Player Health and Performance for the Ottawa Senators Hockey Club, a role initiated in November 2023. Additionally, Matt has held the same title with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats Football Club and the Hamilton Bulldogs Hockey Club since March 2016 and March 2015, respectively. As the owner of Paragenix Systems since April 1998, Matt focuses on empowering elite athletes and executives through tailored health and performance programs. Matt previously contributed as a Player Health and Safety Advisor for the NHLPA from July 2019 to December 2023 and founded BioSteel Sports Nutrition, serving from August 2009 to September 2019. Earlier experience includes being the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Toronto Maple Leafs from July 2002 to June 2009 and teaching/ coaching at Selwyn House School in 1997-1998. Matt's education includes a Bachelor's in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from McGill University, a Bachelor's of Education from McGill University, and a Master's in Kinesiology/Master of Coaching from York University.
