George Vargas

George Vargas has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades in various roles within the technology industry. George started their career at Postini (acquired by Google) as a Senior Account Executive and Channel Manager, where they worked for four years. George then joined BlueRoads as an Enterprise Account Executive for a period of two years.

In 2008, George joined FusionIO as a Senior Manager of Channel Sales, managing national and western region accounts for a period of six years. After that, they joined StackIQ as the Director of Channel Alliances, where they were responsible for automating the deployment and management of big infrastructure.

From 2015 to 2017, George worked at StorageCraft Technology Corp. (Exablox acquired by StorageCraft) as the Director of Global Channel Sales, where they grew the partner ecosystem and implemented revenue-generating programs.

Next, George joined Platform9 Systems as the Director of Cloud Channel Sales, responsible for introducing Platform9 to cloud partners and leading the strategy with resellers and alliance partners to increase the footprint and build collaboration.

In 2018, George joined Qumulo as the Channel Sales lead in the West, where they led the go-to-market strategy, introduced channel best practices, and drove partner awareness to increase pipeline in the region.

After that, they joined Igneous (Acquired by Rubrik) as the Senior Director of Cloud Partners & Alliances for North America. In this role, they focused on on-premise NAS to cloud data protection/data movement for multi-petabyte environments and led a team of partner sales and marketing managers.

Most recently, George is working at Cohesity as the Channel Development Manager, heading up the strategic channel and alliance strategy for Northern California, with an emphasis on increasing channel-generated revenue in the enterprise, mid-market, and SLED markets. George works closely with national and regional system integrators to align executive, marketing, sales, and technical efforts.

Currently, George Vargas holds the position of Director of Alliances at Hammerspace, starting in 2023.

George Vargas has a Bachelor's degree in International Relations from the University of California, Berkeley. Before attending university, they attended San Francisco University High School. Prior to that, they studied at Cathedral School for Boys. In addition to their formal education, George has obtained certifications in Competency Based Interviewing and Sales Associate from Cohesity, with the former obtained in October 2022 and the latter in May 2021.
