Dr. Shante Oniyide began their career in education as a special education teacher with the New York City Department of Education in 2007. Dr. Shante transitioned to Hampton City Schools in 2013, where they continued as a special education teacher until 2016. Dr. Shante then moved to Isle Of Wight Public School as a Special Education Teacher for one year. In 2017, they returned to Hampton City Schools, initially as an Assistant Principal before being promoted to School Principal in 2022.
Dr. Shante Oniyide completed their High School Diploma at Tabor Academy in 2002. Dr. Shante then went on to earn a BS in Inclusive Elementary and Special Education from Syracuse University in 2006. In 2012, they obtained a Master's degree in Special Education and Teaching from Hunter College. Dr. Shante continued their education at The George Washington University, receiving an Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership and Administration in 2016. Most recently, Dr. Oniyide completed their Doctor of Education (EdD) in Educational Leadership and Administration at The George Washington University in 2022.
