James T. Harris

James T. Harris, Ed.D. began their work experience in 2007 as a Teacher at Newport News Public Schools. In 2009, they transitioned to Hampton City Schools, where they held various roles including Teacher/Instructional Leader, Classroom Management Coach, Assistant Principal, Executive Principal, and currently serves as the Chief Academic Officer.

James T. Harris, Ed.D. attended Phoebus High School before earning a Bachelor of Arts in History from Hampton University in 2006. James T. went on to complete a Master of Education in Secondary Education and Teaching from Hampton University in 2009. Later, they pursued an Education Specialist Ed.S in Educational Administration and Supervision from The George Washington University in 2014. Currently, they are studying for a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at Virginia Tech, with an expected completion date in 2023.
