Orestes Gooden

Orestes Gooden serves as the Chairman of the Aviation Department and Aviation Flight Safety Manager at Hampton University since February 2023. Prior to this role, Orestes Gooden was an Assistant Professor at Elizabeth City State University from August 2003 to February 2023, where responsibilities included program expansion, course development, and student advisement. Orestes Gooden has over 24 years of experience in the United States Navy, achieving the rank of Commander and engaging in mission-related flying and search and rescue operations. Additionally, Orestes Gooden worked as a Manufacturing Engineer at Ford Motor Company from 1996 to 2003, overseeing projects and ensuring product quality. Orestes Gooden holds a Master of Aviation Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and a Bachelor of Science in Geology from Virginia State University.
