Spencer James

Spencer James, CFA, serves as a Fixed Income Portfolio Manager at Hancock Whitney since July 2018, overseeing short and intermediate duration fixed income portfolios that include government, corporate, and municipal securities. Responsibilities include structuring fixed income trades, researching creditworthiness of municipal bond issuers, providing equity sector coverage for publicly traded REITs, and producing performance measurement reports. Prior experience includes a Fixed Income Analyst role at Capital One Asset Management from August 2014 to July 2018, where Spencer assisted in portfolio management and participated in investment committees. Early career positions included Valuation Associate at Grant Thornton LLP and various roles in financial statement preparation and technical support. Spencer holds both a MS and BS in Finance from Louisiana State University.
