Zachary Denning

Zachary Denning has a diverse work experience in the building automation industry. Zachary currently holds the role of Head of Product Sustainability at JLL, starting in 2022. Prior to that, they co-founded Hank in 2016 and held the position of Head of Product Sustainability. At Hank, they developed an AI virtual building engineer that improved comfort and reduced energy costs for buildings.

Zachary has also worked at Distech Controls as a Solution Sales Specialist from 2014 to 2015, providing partner support and consulting services for automation products. Zachary has experience as a Building Automation Instructor at Laney College in 2014, teaching about building automation systems.

Before that, Zachary worked as a BAS Sales Engineer at Western Allied Mechanical from 2013 to 2014, focusing on building automation system sales. Zachary was a Sales Engineer at Controlco from 2012 to 2013, specializing in energy auditing, open BAS integrations, and data analytics. Zachary also worked at Schneider Electric as a Field Supervisor from 2009 to 2012, supervising BMS Technicians and working with various automation platforms.

Throughout their career, Zachary has demonstrated expertise in sustainability, energy efficiency, and building automation systems.

Zachary Denning completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the California State University Maritime Academy. Zachary attended the university from 2005 to 2009. In addition to their degree, Zachary also obtained several certifications throughout their career. Zachary received the Honeywell Spyder Certification from Honeywell in November 2012. In July 2009, they obtained the Invensys I/A Series Unitary Controller Certification from Invensys. In June 2009, they also achieved the Tridium A/X Certification from Tridium, followed by the Tridium R2 Certification in May 2009. Furthermore, Zachary holds a U.S. Coastguard 3rd Assistant Engineer License, which they obtained in April 2009 from the U.S. Coast Guard.
