Janine Benz has a diverse work experience in the fashion industry. Janine started their career at American Apparel as a Visual Merchandiser from February 2011 to June 2011. Later, they joined Hanna Andersson where they held various roles. From August 2011 to January 2013, they worked as a Colorist/Assistant Designer, responsible for creating seasonal color stories and maintaining color accuracy across the brand. Janine then became an Associate Designer for the Girl's Division from January 2013 to February 2014, working on designing silhouettes, graphics, and prints for seasonal collections. From February 2014 to February 2015, they served as a Designer for Toddler and Home, bringing Hannah Home line in-house and launching a new product line. Janine then worked as a Designer for Girls from February 2015 to June 2017, where they collaborated with the Design Manager and Merchandising to develop a product line. Later, they became a Design Manager for Girl's from June 2017 to December 2020, managing over 500 styles annually and overseeing production aspects. From February 2020 to December 2021, they took on the role of Design Manager/Concept Lead for Baby + Sleep, managing the relaunch of the baby line and implementing strategic creative direction. Currently, Janine serves as the Design Director for Surface Design and Sleepwear, leading a multi-disciplinary design team in creating seasonal design direction and managing textile designers and freelancers.
Janine Benz completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Apparel Design from The Art Institutes between 2008 and 2011.
