Susan Hayes, MBA, CRCE has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Susan has recently been employed as the Director of Patient Financial Services at Hannibal Regional since April 2022. Prior to their current role, they served as the Billing Manager at the same company from July 2019 to April 2022.
Before joining Hannibal Regional, Susan worked at Sunset Home, where they held the position of Director of Accounting from June 2018 to September 2019. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Billing Analyst at the same company from January 2016 to June 2018.
Susan also brings experience from their tenure at Wildtree Herbs, Inc. as a Team Leader from September 2013 to September 2019. Additionally, they worked as a Clinical Supervisor at White Oak Counseling, LLC from February 2015 to August 2016.
Earlier in their career, Susan held the position of Director of Finance and Human Resources at Physical Performance Systems from September 2011 to February 2015. Furthermore, they gained valuable experience in the hospitality industry by working as a Waitress/Shift Manager at Junction Restaurant & Lounge from March 1998 to April 2014.
Throughout their career, Susan has showcased strong leadership skills and expertise in various areas such as finance, billing, accounting, and patient financial services.
Susan Hayes, MBA, CRCE completed their Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) with a specialization in Health Care Management from William Woods University in 2010-2011. Prior to that, they obtained their Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) in Accounting and Finance from Lindenwood University in 2002-2005. In November 2020, they received the certification of Certified Revenue Cycle Executive (CRCE) from AAHAM - The American Association of Healthcare Administrative Management.

The Hannibal Regional Healthcare System (HRHS) story began when community benefactors and leaders formed Hannibal’s first hospitals - Levering Hospital in 1903 and St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in 1914. The merger of these two organizations in the late 1980s led to another major milestone in the evolution of strong community-based healthcare. In 1993 the new Hannibal Regional Hospital opened its doors on a pastoral 105-acre setting which is now a thriving healthcare campus. The beautifully appointed medical campus currently includes Hannibal Regional Hospital, Hannibal Regional Medical Group, Hannibal Regional Hospital Foundation, Center for Applied Medical Research, and the James E. Cary Cancer Center. The Hannibal Regional Healthcare System team is nearly 1,000 strong and is mission-driven, values-based and committed to preserving the vision and legacy of our founders.
