Russell Smith began their work experience in 1991 as a Marketing Research Assistant at Campbell Soup Company. Russell then worked as an Account Executive at Crossmark/Joseph W. Riley Company, managing the largest perishable dairy brand, Land O' Lakes. In 2000, they became a Business Development Manager at Advantage/Pezrow, overseeing the Land O' Lakes business in Eastern Pennsylvania. From 2001 to 2009, Smith became a Key Business Manager at S&D Brokerage, LLC, handling top-tier dairy/deli brands. Russell then transitioned to Advantage Sales & Marketing as a Business Development Manager, working with various clients including Target Corporation and SuperValu Corporate. Finally, Smith joined Hanover Foods Corporation as Director of Retail Branded Sales and later as Vice President of Retail Sales and Marketing, managing branded and private label sales and marketing functions.

Russell Smith has a Bachelor of Science degree in Food Marketing from Saint Joseph's University. Prior to that, they obtained a high school diploma from Upper Darby Senior High School.
