Björn Hambe has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. Björn began their career as a Laboratorieassistent at Klinisk kemiska laboratoriet, Universitetssjukhuset MAS in 1985. Björn then joined the Marine Biological Laboratory as a Medical technologist for a brief period in 1997.

In 1993, Björn joined the Department of Clinical Chemistry at Lund University as a Biomedicinsk analytiker. During their time there, they specialized in the purification and characterization of proteins in the coagulation system. Björn also worked on the purification and characterization of γ-carboxyglutamic acid-containing peptides from a marine cone snail. Additionally, Björn gained expertise in monoclonal antibody epitope mapping using the Phage Display technique. Björn continued working at Lund University until 2001.

From 2001 to 2016, Björn served as a Research Engineer at BioInvent International AB.
