Robert McFarlane

Robert McFarlane is a distinguished legal professional with extensive experience in intellectual property law. Currently serving as a Partner, Technology Practice Chair, and Co-Chair of the Intellectual Property Practice at Hanson Bridgett LLP since October 2011, McFarlane also holds the position of Adjunct Professor, teaching Patent Law at the University of California, College of the Law, San Francisco. In addition to teaching at the University of California, McFarlane has contributed to Golden Gate University, School of Law, where intellectual property courses were taught from 2008 to 2022. McFarlane was the Past President of the San Francisco Intellectual Property Law Association from 2020 to 2021. Previous roles include Partner and Chair of Patent and Intellectual Property Litigation at Carroll, Burdick & McDonough, and Partner at Townsend and Townsend and Crew LLP.
