Alin PUNCIOIU

Alin Puncoiu has extensive work experience in the field of cybersecurity. Alin started their career as a Cyber Security Specialist at the Ministry of National Defence in 2006 and held this role until January 2016. Alin then joined Secureworks, where they worked in various positions including Security Systems Sr. Advisor from January 2016 to June 2017, Security Operations Manager from June 2017 to August 2019, and Security Operations Sr. Manager from August 2019 to December 2021. In January 2022, they joined Superbet as the Director of Incident Response, a role they held until October 2022. Currently, Alin Puncoiu is the Director of Incident Response and Threat Hunting at Happening.

Alin PUNCIOIU has a strong educational background with degrees and certifications in various fields. Alin started their academic journey in 2001 and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Automotive Engineering from the Romanian Military Technical Academy in 2006. Following this, they pursued Postgraduate studies in Computer Science at the Technical University of Civil Engineering in Bucharest from 2007 to 2009.

In 2007, Alin PUNCIOIU also enrolled in the University of Bucharest and completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science in 2010. Alin further expanded their knowledge by pursuing a Master's degree in Educational management at the Technical University of Civil Engineering in Bucharest from 2010 to 2012.

Alin PUNCIOIU's quest for knowledge did not end there. Alin continued their academic pursuits at the Romanian Military Technical Academy, where they engaged in Doctoral studies/PhD in Mechanical Engineering from 2011 to 2015.

In addition to their formal education, Alin PUNCIOIU possesses several certifications that demonstrate their expertise in various areas. These include certifications such as Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) from EC-Council, Offensive Security Certified Professional, Splunk Certified Power User, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)², and IBM Certified Associate Analyst - Security QRadar SIEM v.7.2.6 from IBM, among others.
