Edmund Maputi

Edmund Maputi is a seasoned engineering professional serving as a Board Member at the Zimbabwe Institute of Engineers since June 2023, where responsibilities include monitoring engineering education and training needs. Currently acting as the Dean of the School of Engineering and Technology at the Harare Institute of Technology, Edmund provides strategic management aligned with the education 5.0 model. As a Principal Investigator at Edmunds Engineering Design Lab since March 2020, contributions are made towards advancing engineering design research. Academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Technology in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering from the Harare Institute of Technology, a Master's in Engineering Design from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, and a PhD in Engineering focusing on Computation and Evolutionary Algorithms in Engineering Design from AMITY University Gurgaon. Past experience includes roles as a teaching assistant, maintenance engineer, and engineering intern across various organizations, shaping a robust career in engineering design.
