Elisa Pitkin has a diverse work experience in the field of education. Elisa started their career in 1998 at Harborlight Montessori School, where they served as the Lower Elementary Head Teacher until 2003. Elisa then took on the role of Director of Education at the same school, where they remained until their departure date is unspecified. In 2006, Elisa joined the Montessori Institute of New England (M.I.N.E) as an Instructor. Currently, they are an Adjunct Professor at Endicott College, a position they began in 2015.

Elisa Pitkin completed a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and Teaching from Gordon College in 1994. Elisa then obtained an Early Childhood Montessori Certification from the National Center of Montessori Education in 2000. Elisa furthered their education by earning an Elementary Montessori Certification I & II from the Montessori Center International in 2002. In 2006, they completed their education with a Master's degree in Education/Montessori Teacher Education, also from Gordon College.
