Joel Hwang

Joel Hwang is a Managing Director at HarbourVest Partners, LLC, overseeing investments in various private equity sectors since 2014. Hwang serves as a member of the Board of Directors for Ministry Brands and FiveStars, contributing expertise to leading SaaS solutions for faith-based organizations and customer loyalty programs for small businesses, respectively. Additionally, Hwang acts as an observer on the Board of Directors for Appriss, providing data and technology solutions to enhance community safety. Previous experience includes roles in finance and operations at CloudPassage, as well as summer associate positions at Sterling Partners and a corporate business development internship at Cisco. Hwang began a career in investment banking at Citigroup, where strategic advisory and valuation analyses were conducted for numerous high-profile transactions. Hwang holds an MBA in Finance and Entrepreneurial Management from The Wharton School and a B.A. in Economics from Dartmouth College.
