Marcin Kowalski

Marcin Kowalski has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Marcin is currently working as a Security Engineer at Hard Rock Digital since February 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Genesis BlueBird Sp. z o.o. from May 2018 to January 2023, serving as a DevSecOps and then as a Data Base Administrator. Before that, they held the position of Chief Specialist - Database Administrator at Gdańskie Centrum Informatyczne from August 2017 to April 2018. Marcin also worked at Urząd Miejski w Gdańsku from December 2015 to July 2017, where they worked as an Inspector/Chief Specialist - Database Administrator.

In addition to their database administration roles, Marcin has also worked as a Programmer at 3MLab sp. z o.o. from March 2014 to November 2015, where they gained experience in working with Unity, graphics, animation, scripting (C #), and networking. Marcin also worked as a Programmer at Datera S.A. from June 2013 to February 2014 and at Z.U.I. OTAGO sp. z o.o. from April 2008 to April 2013, where they also had a brief role as an Application Consultant.

Marcin's work experience also includes a short-term role as a Referent ds. świadczeniobiorców (zlecenie) at Narodowy Fundusz Zdrowia in November and December 2007. Marcin started their career with a internship at Elektrociepłownie Gdańsk S.A in July 2006 in the "Zespół Diagnostyki" department.

Marcin Kowalski's education history includes multiple degrees and certifications in the field of cybersecurity and computer science. In 2022-2023, Marcin attended Uczelnia Łazarskiego w Warszawie and pursued studies in cybersecurity and computer forensics. Prior to that, Marcin completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Programming and database systems at Gdańsk University of Technology from 2012 to 2013. From 2001 to 2008, they obtained their Master of Science degree in Technical Physics, specializing in Physics and technology of energy conversion at Gdańsk University of Technology. Additionally, Marcin has obtained several certifications, including Introduction to Cyber Security Specialization, Real-Time Cyber Threat Detection and Mitigation, Cyber Attack Countermeasures, Python for Active Defense, Python for Command-and-control, Exfiltration and Impact, Python for Cybersecurity Specialization, Credential Access, discovery, lateral movement & collection, Cryptography and Information Theory, Execution, persistence, privilege escalation and evasion, Introduction to Python for Cybersecurity, and Wprowadzenie do bezpieczeństwa IT. These certifications were obtained from institutions such as Coursera and Securitum, with completion dates ranging from 2021 to 2022. Marcin also completed courses on Managing Cloud Infrastructure with Terraform and Terraform on GCP (Google Cloud Platform) through Coursera and NobleProg in 2021.
