Mark Vanderwielen has a diverse range of work experience in the hospitality industry, spanning over three decades. Mark most recently served as the Vice President of Hotel Operations at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City since March 2023. Prior to that, they worked at the Viceroy Hotel Group as an Area General Manager overseeing multiple hotels from August 2021 to January 2023. Mark also served as the General Manager of Congress Hall Hotel from June to November 2020.
Mark has an extensive history with the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, where they held various positions including VP- Hotel and Property Operations from December 2016 to April 2020, Vice President of Hotel Operations from January 2010 to December 2016, and General Manager from July 2007 to December 2010.
Their earlier experiences include working for Kimpton as an Assistant General Manager from May 2004 to June 2007, and for Intercontinental in multiple roles such as Director of Rooms, Front Office Manager, Asst. Front Office Manager, and Reception Manager/Training Manager from 1993 to 2004.
Mark started their career at the London Hilton on Park Lane as a Supervisor in Accounts Payable/Payroll from 1991 to 1993. Prior to that, they served in the Belgium Armed Forces as a Private for National Service from 1990 to 1991.
Mark began their hospitality career at Hilton Colombo as a Front Office Supervisor from 1987 to 1989 and at Oberoi Colombo as a Receptionist from 1986 to 1987.
Mark Vanderwielen completed their education from 1974 to 1980 at ST. Josephs High School in Juhu, Mumbai, India. Mark then went on to attend St. Peter's College in Colombo, Sri Lanka from 1980 to 1983, where they pursued their degree in Economics and earned a G.C.E qualification.
