Lauren Hamilton is a Public Health Associate at the SLO County Public Health Department since August 2021 and a Lead Performance Studies Microbiologist at Hardy Diagnostics since June 2019, where management of food and clinical projects and certification projects occurs. Previous roles at Hardy Diagnostics include Performance Studies Microbiologist II and Technical Support Microbiologist in various capacities. Lauren served as Open House Co-Chair for Cal Poly New Student & Transition Programs and was actively involved in summer and new student orientations. Academic experience includes a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo and ongoing studies for a Master of Science in Microbiology and Cell Sciences at the University of Florida, with a concentration in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Additionally, relevant research explored epigenetic changes in methylation patterns affecting protein production within HeLa Cells, contributing to a broader investigation of diabetes prevalence in Asian-American populations. Early career experience includes a role as Marketing Manager at TWASOH.
