Geneau Thames, Esq. has extensive work experience in the legal field. Geneau is currently the Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary at Harford Mutual Insurance Group, a position they have held since March 2023. Prior to this role, they served as the AVP, General Counsel & Secretary at the same company, starting in June 2019. Ms. Thames also worked as the General Counsel & Director of Compliance at Harford Mutual Insurance Group starting in May 2015. Here, they provided strategic advice to the CEO and other executives on company initiatives.

Before their time at Harford Mutual Insurance Group, Ms. Thames worked at Niles, Barton & Wilmer, LLP as a Hiring and Associate & Retention Partner from August 2004 to April 2015. During their tenure, they focused on litigation. Additionally, they served as a Law Clerk for Honorable Thomas J.S. Waxter, Jr. at the Baltimore City Circuit Court from August 2003 to July 2004.

Prior to their legal career, Ms. Thames worked as a Financial Aid Advisor/Scholarship Coordinator at Towson University from October 1999 to June 2004.

Geneau Thames, Esq. completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Political Science from Towson University between 1996 and 1999. Following this, Geneau Thames attended the University of Baltimore School of Law from 2001 to 2004, where they obtained a Juris Doctorate degree with a specialization in Law.
