Chanan Aviv

Chanan Aviv is a co-founder and CTO of Hargol FoodTech, the first company globally to produce grasshoppers commercially in climate-controlled settings since January 2014. With extensive experience in the edible insects sector, Chanan has also been the owner of Commercial Breeding of Insects since 2011, focusing on developing habitats for edible insects and pollination protocols for agriculture. Previous roles include ownership of Carpenters Farm Shop and Directorship at Ornamental Fish Farm, where responsibility included team management and production planning. As the owner of a beehive operation and director at Kibbutz Amiad, Chanan has a solid background in agricultural management. Chanan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Sciences from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem and has completed various educational courses related to industry maintenance and preparation for matriculation.
