Yury Parra

Medical Director, Health Services at Harlem United

Yury Parra has an extensive work experience in the healthcare industry. From 2017 to 2018, Parra served as a Clinical Instructor in Family Medicine at Sidney Kimmel Medical College. In 2018, Parra joined the Department of Family and Social Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center as the HIV Fellowship/Curriculum Director and also worked as an Attending Physician/Ryan White Program Site Coordinator at Montefiore Health System during the same period. In 2019, Parra became an Assistant Professor of Family and Social Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. In 2020, Parra took on the role of Director of Clinical Planning and Operations, Care Models at NYC Health + Hospitals, where they also served as an Attending Physician and NYC COVID-19 Test and Trace Corps Clinical Advisor. Currently, Parra is working as the Medical Director of Health Services at Harlem United starting from 2022. Additionally, Parra is a member of the HIVMA Clinical Fellowship Committee at the HIV Medicine Association since 2023.

Yury Parra holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from New York University. They also pursued international public health and international health at NYU Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service. Yury completed a general surgery internship at Stamford Hospital/Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians & Surgeons and a residency in family and community medicine at Jefferson Health. They further completed a clinical fellowship in HIV medicine through the HIV Medical Association (HIVMA). Yury Parra obtained a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the University of Illinois Chicago. They are also certified in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine, with the certification obtained in 2023.
