Markus Koch

Markus Koch is a seasoned professional in acoustics and audio engineering with extensive experience across multiple prestigious companies. Currently serving as a Distinguished Engineer at HARMAN International since March 2025, Markus previously held the position of Lead Audio Engineer at Tesla, where responsibilities included building a premier audio team for various vehicle models, including the Cybertruck and Semi. Prior roles include Lead Audio Architect at BYTON, where Markus specified amplifiers and loudspeakers while guiding suppliers across multiple countries, and Lead Audio Engineer at Tesla Motors, where the Model 3 premium audio system was developed from scratch. Markus also has experience at Bang & Olufsen, where management of acoustical development and sound design for luxury automotive brands occurred. Earlier contributions included work as a Senior System Engineer at Harman/Becker Automotive Systems and a Scientific Associate at the Fraunhofer Institute. Educationally, Markus holds a Master’s Degree in Physics from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).
