Marcel Patek

Marcel Patek has over 30 years of experience in the field of drug discovery. Marcel is currently the CSO and co-founder of Harmonic Discovery, a company they joined in 2021. Prior to that, they founded and served as the President of Bright Rock Path, LLC, a consulting firm specializing in drug discovery, from 2018 onwards. Marcel also held the position of Vice President of Chemistry at Icagen from 2016 to 2018. Before that, they worked at Sanofi for several years, where they served as Director of Chemistry and later as Head of High Throughput Chemistry and Quality Control. Marcel began their career as a Research Scientist at Selectide Corporation in 1991. Marcel's areas of expertise include medicinal chemistry, analytical chemistry, computational chemistry, project management, and team leadership.

Marcel Patek obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Organic Chemistry from the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Technology in Prague. Marcel completed this degree from 1982 to 1986. Later, from 1989 to 1991, Marcel pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Organic Chemistry at the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry, Academy of Sciences.
