Ravi Rajagopalan

Ravi Rajagopalan has extensive experience in the field of drug discovery and development. Ravi is currently the Vice President of Drug Discovery & Development at Harmonic Discovery since 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Blade Therapeutics from 2015 to 2022, where they held various roles including Vice President of Biology, Executive Director of Biology, and Senior Director of Biology. During their time at Blade Therapeutics, they led drug discovery, biology, and translational science efforts for fibrosis, neurodegeneration, and COVID-19 programs. Ravi played a key role in studying the mechanism and pharmacology of the autotaxin inhibitor cudetaxestat for lung fibrosis. Before joining Blade Therapeutics, Ravi worked at InterMune from 2006 to 2015. Ravi started as a Scientist II and progressed to roles such as Senior Scientist, Associate Director, and eventually Director of Discovery Biology. At InterMune, they led the internal and CRO based drug discovery biology team and spearheaded discovery and development programs in HCV and fibrosis. Notably, they contributed to fibrosis research through programs involving LPA antagonists, pirfenidone analogs, LOXL2 inhibitors, and FMT inhibitors. Before their time at InterMune, Ravi worked as a Senior Scientist in Biochemistry at Celera Genomics from 2004 to 2006, where they focused on HCV drug discovery biology and supported protease and polymerase programs.

Ravi Rajagopalan has an extensive education history in the field of biochemistry and chemistry. Ravi started their academic journey at Loyola College, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Chemistry from 1989 to 1992. Ravi then pursued further studies at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, where they earned a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Chemistry from 1992 to 1994.

Continuing their pursuit of knowledge in biochemistry, Ravi joined The Ohio State University from 1994 to 1999. During this time, they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Biochemistry. Following this, Ravi became a Research Fellow at Penn State University from 1999 to 2004.

Aside from their formal education, Ravi has also obtained several certifications in various subjects. In 2015, they received certifications in Introduction to Operations Management, Introduction to Financial Accounting, Introduction to Marketing, Design and Interpretation of Clinical Trials, and Introduction to Finance from Coursera Course Certificates.
