Sam Murphy

Sam Murphy 莫非 is an accomplished finance and commercial leader with extensive experience in the mining industry. Currently serving as the General Manager of Finance & Commercial at Harmony Gold Mining Company Limited since December 2022, Sam has previously held key positions including Financial Controller at Copper Mountain Mining Corp and Manager of Strategic Planning and Analysis at Base Resources. With a strong background in managing finance, accounting, and commercial operations for major mining projects in North America and beyond, Sam's expertise includes cost management, capital productivity, and procurement. Notable prior roles include Group Commercial Manager at OceanaGold Corporation and Commercial Manager at Iluka Resources, where significant contributions were made to operational leadership and strategic planning. Sam holds a Bachelor’s degree in Natural Resource Economics from The University of Queensland and completed the Company Directors Course at the Australian Institute of Company Directors in 2021.
