Jiyi "G.E." Zhang is a seasoned expert in plant genetics and breeding with extensive experience in research and development roles across several prominent agricultural companies. Currently serving as the VP of Research & Development at Harpe Bio since June 2022, Jiyi has successfully built a multidisciplinary R&D team and developed innovative greenhouse assays for herbicide efficacy testing. Previous positions include significant contributions at BASF and Bayer, where Jiyi led teams on herbicide tolerance traits, optimized trait evaluation operations, and initiated global innovation projects. With a solid academic foundation, including a Ph.D. in Plant Genetics and Breeding from the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Jiyi has also contributed to academia as a lecturer and professor of genetics.
