Shamese Mascall

Shamese Mascall is a dedicated Literacy Specialist and NEDP Assessor at Destination Tomorrow since July 2022, and a teacher at Harriet Tubman Charter School since August 2019. With a strong background in education, Shamese has also worked as a teacher and teaching assistant. As an author and editor under the brand Vanessa Moore LLC, Shamese specializes in Black love literature and offers writing consulting services. Additional experience includes a role as a scriptwriter for the paused docuseries The X, dedicated to showcasing The Bronx. Prior to these positions, Shamese worked as a freelance writer, providing public relations services for artists and public figures, and held various roles in supervisory and analytical positions in transit companies. Shamese holds multiple degrees, including an MFA in Creative Writing from Southern New Hampshire University, an MEd in Adolescent Literacy from Concordia University-Portland, a BA in English Language and Literature from Lehman College, and an AA in Liberal Arts and Sciences from CUNY Bronx Community College, with ongoing graduate studies.
