The mission of the Harris County Toll Road Authority (HCTRA) is to responsibly operate and maintain a safe, reliable, sustainable, and evolving mobility system that meets the diverse connectivity needs of all Harris County residents.

- HCTRA will deliver mobility solutions that create value for customers and the community by incorporating stakeholder collaboration throughout planning, development, and implementation.
- HCTRA will strengthen the region’s economic vitality by improving mobility for all with safe and efficient mobility solutions throughout Harris County.

The HCTRA system consists of more than 128 miles of roadway throughout Harris County, as well as the historic Washburn Tunnel and Lynchburg Ferry. As of March 2021, there are 2.2 million active EZ TAG accounts representing more than 5 million active EZ TAGs.

The Operations team at the Harris County Toll Road Authority is responsible for overseeing and managing the efficient functioning of toll facilities and related infrastructure. This includes ensuring the seamless operation of toll collection systems, maintaining roadway and facility conditions, managing traffic operations, and implementing intelligent transportation systems. The team collaborates to enhance mobility solutions, improve safety, and provide a high level of service to the community.
