Lucia A. Hurtado

Lucia A. Hurtado is a highly experienced medical interpreter and translator, currently serving as a Board Certified Senior Medical Interpreter at Harris Health System since January 2013, specializing in consecutive and simultaneous interpretation as well as medical translation at Lyndon B. Johnson General Hospital. Prior to this role, Lucia worked as a Certified Spanish Medical Interpreter at Memorial Hermann Hospital from 2007 to December 2012, where responsibilities included bridging cultural and language gaps for limited English proficiency patients. Earlier career experiences encompass various positions in translation, editorial, and communications, including roles as an Executive Assistant at Breco Holding Inc and as Editor in Chief at the Bolivian-American Chamber of Commerce. Lucia's extensive background in communications is complemented by a Bachelor of Applied Science in Communications from Universidad Católica Boliviana.
