Olivia McCracken, PE, has a diverse range of work experience in engineering.

In 2018, they worked as a Project Engineer at Harris Kocher Smith, where they were responsible for various project-related tasks.

From 2017 to 2018, they were a Staff Engineer I at J3 Engineering Consultants, Inc., where they held an engineering role.

Prior to that, from 2015 to 2017, Olivia worked at Humber Design Group, Inc. as a Project Designer. In this role, they coordinated with project teams, clients, and local jurisdictions to achieve design requirements. Olivia also developed and analyzed technical calculations using HydroCAD and Excel to compile stormwater reports. Additionally, they designed site features using AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Olivia also has experience as a Design Engineer at 2N Civil, LLC, where they collaborated with Project Managers to assemble construction drawing sets and co-designed a storm sewer pipe network. Olivia also analyzed floodplain alterations and provided explanations in a floodplain analysis letter.

Before working in the engineering field, Olivia served as a Youth Coordinator/Jesuit Volunteer at the Margaret Donnelly O'Connor Education Center at Ethel R. Lawrence Homes. In this role, they educated children about engineering principles through a LEGO club, facilitated outreach programs, and supervised after-school activities.

Olivia's engineering experience extends back to their time as a Team Member in the Senior Design Project at the University of Portland. Olivia worked on developing IDF curves, calculating flow through crossings, and collaborating on a weekly basis.

Additionally, they worked as an NSF-IRES Research Assistant at the National Science Foundation, collaborating with Water For People-Honduras to design a water distribution system and latrine options for a community in Honduras. Olivia summarized the design process in a report.

Finally, Olivia was a Team Member at Engineers Without Borders - University of Portland Chapter, where they calculated stream flow, collaborated on designing a culvert crossing, and implemented the design in Honduras while collaborating with the local community.

Olivia McCracken, PE, obtained a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Portland from 2009 to 2013. Olivia also received additional certifications including Professional Engineer (PE) from the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies in February 2020 and Engineering Intern from the Oregon State Board of Examiners for Engineering and Land Surveying in June 2013.
