Ian Markie

Ian Markie has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Ian recently joined Harris Williams as a Network Engineer in 2021. Prior to that, they worked at Weston Foods as a Network Analyst for over two years, where they supported multiple sites, deployed network equipment, and assisted with troubleshooting and projects. Ian also worked at General Cigar as a Systems Support Specialist, responsible for SCCM management and mobile device deployment. Before that, they were employed at Evergreen Enterprises as an IT Desktop Support / Jr. Sys Admin, where they served as a HelpDesk Team Leader and handled Active Directory management. Ian's experience also includes an internship at Stratford University, where they assisted with troubleshooting and optimization of the IT infrastructure. Ian began their career in 2008 in the United States Marine Corps as a Squad Leader.

Ian Markie attended Virginia Commonwealth University from 2007 to 2013, studying History and Computer Science. Ian then went on to pursue a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Technology at Stratford University from 2013 to 2015. Additionally, Ian obtained several certifications, including Cisco Certified Network Associate Routing and Switching (CCNA) from Cisco in February 2020, CompTIA Sec+ ce from CompTIA in December 2017, and CompTIA A+ ce from CompTIA in June 2015.
