Ilona Johnson

Ilona Johnson, PE, CBCP, CEM, LEED AP, currently serves as the Director of Design + Engineering at Harris since September 2021, after previously holding the role of Associate Director. Between February 2016 and September 2021, Ilona worked as a Mechanical Design Engineer at GHT Limited, focusing on the mechanical design for commercial office spaces. Prior experience includes roles at Lilker EMO Energy Solutions, where responsibilities encompassed energy and sustainability consulting, and managing projects related to LEED commissioning. Ilona also took a sabbatical for travel and volunteer work in South Asia and Central America from October 2010 to March 2012. Additional experience includes technical research at BCS, Inc., tutoring at Smith College, and research in ecohydrology during studies in Costa Rica. Ilona holds a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Science from Smith College.
