Alice Pellegrino

Alice Pellegrino has extensive experience in the legal field, particularly in the asset management industry. Alice started their career at K&L Gates as an Associate from September 1992 to December 1996. Alice then joined Merrill Lynch Investment Managers, LLC and BlackRock, Inc. as an Assistant Vice President/Director from January 1997 to August 2007. In this role, they oversaw the drafting, review, and filing of regulatory filings for over 100 open-end and closed-end funds. Alice also provided legal advice to portfolio managers and compliance departments on various legal matters.

Since September 2007, Alice has been working at Hartford Funds, where they have held multiple roles. From September 2007 to April 2022, they served as a Vice President, providing advice and support on issues related to the Investment Company Act of 1940 and the Investment Advisers Act of 1940. Their primary responsibilities included advising the Hartford Funds ETF team, managing the legal team for drafting and reviewing regulatory filings, and providing advice on the creation of new products. Alice also drafted and reviewed agreements and provided support to the mutual fund Board of Directors/Trustees.

In April 2022, Alice was promoted to Vice President and Deputy General Counsel at Hartford Funds. In this role, they continue to provide advice and support on legal issues related to investment acts. Alice oversees the legal team that drafts, reviews, and files regulatory filings for over 50 registered open-end investment companies. Alice also advises management on the creation of new products and provides support to the mutual fund Board of Directors/Trustees.

Alice Pellegrino has a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Latin and Greek from Duke University. Alice also holds a Doctor of Law (JD) degree from Georgetown University Law Center. Furthermore, Alice has a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Classics and Classical Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics from Stanford University.
