Paul Martin has extensive work experience in various roles and companies. Paul began their career in the US Navy, serving as a Petty Officer First Class on the USS Enterprise CVAN 65 from 1976 to 1982. After their military service, they worked as a Clinical Supplies Manager at Purdue Frederick from 1987 to 1990 and then at Berlex Laboratories from 1991 to 1998. In 1999, they joined Johnson & Johnson as a Patent Attorney and held this position until 2008. From 2008 onwards, Paul served as the Vice President of Intellectual Property and Deputy General Counsel at PTC Therapeutics, Inc.

Paul Martin attended Seton Hall University School of Law from 1992 to 1996, where they obtained a Doctor of Law (JD) degree. Prior to that, from 1983 to 1987, they studied Chemistry with a minor in English at Southern Connecticut State University, earning a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree. Paul also holds additional certifications, including Admission to Practice from the Supreme Court of the United States in 2012 and from the New Jersey State Supreme Court in 2006.
