Douglas Nielsen

Douglas Nielsen is an experienced engineering professional with a strong background in mechanical design and project management. Currently serving as Engineering Manager at Hartwell Corporation since August 2011, Douglas leads a team of project and design engineers in developing latch hardware for various aircraft. Prior to this role, Douglas worked as a Project Engineer at Pratt Whitney Rocketdyne, where the focus was on designing mechanical systems for liquid propelled rocket engines, and as an MTS Technical Staff Member at Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems, focusing on satellite solar array designs. Additionally, Douglas contributed to the Delta II expendable launch vehicle upper stage as a mechanical design engineer at ULA - United Launch Alliance from 1998 to 2007. Douglas holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Oregon State University, earned between 1994 and 1998.
