Jared Genser

Jared Genser is the Managing Director and founder of Perseus Strategies, a law firm specializing in international human rights, humanitarian, and corporate social responsibility projects since 2011. As Special Adviser on the Responsibility to Protect at the Organization of American States since October 2020, Jared Genser collaborates with member states to develop systems preventing mass atrocities and authored a significant report on human rights violations in Venezuela. Additionally, Jared Genser serves as General Counsel for the NeuroRights Foundation and has taught law at Georgetown University and the University of Pennsylvania. As the founder of Freedom Now, Jared Genser has significantly impacted human rights advocacy, securing numerous judgments and working with high-profile clients, including Nobel Peace Prize laureates. Prior experience includes a partnership at DLA Piper focusing on public international law and roles at McKinsey & Company and the National Endowment for Democracy. Jared Genser holds a JD in International Human Rights from the University of Michigan Law School, an MPP from Harvard Kennedy School, and a BS from Cornell University.
