Michael Hess

Chief Engineer at Harvey Gulf International Marine

Michael Hess has a strong background in marine engineering and has held the position of Chief Engineer at both Harvey Gulf International Marine and Kirby Offshore Marine. At Kirby Offshore Marine, they served as Chief Engineer for an ATB with a 10,000 HP engine and a 185,000 bbl barge with an inert gas system. This involved transporting refined petroleum products between ports along the US Gulf Coast and East Coast. michael joined Kirby Offshore Marine in 2001 and remained with the company until joining Harvey Gulf International Marine in 2012, where they continue to work as Chief Engineer.

Michael Hess attended Olympic College from 1988 to 1992, where they pursued a PSNS Apprenticeship in Journeyman Machinist. Prior to that, in 1986, they briefly studied at the US Coast Guard A school and achieved the honor of being a Machinery Technician 3rd class Honor Graduate.
