Ritchard Herring Sr. has a diverse work experience in the maritime industry. Ritchard started their career in 2002 as an Engine Room Entry Level Mariner at Kim Susan Inc, where they worked their way up to Chief Engineer. Ritchard gained valuable experience in the oil and gas industry, primarily working on manually operated Engine Rooms. In 2009, they joined Gulf Offshore Logistics LLC as a Chief Engineer and remained with the company until 2013. Ritchard then moved on to Otto Candies, LLC where they served as a Chief Engineer from 2013 to 2015. During this time, they gained expertise in managing and overseeing various aspects of vessel operations. In 2015, they joined Pinnacle Entertainment as a Chief Engineer in Charge, responsible for managing contractors and completing jobs within multiple departments. Since 2017, Ritchard has been working at Harvey Gulf International Marine as a Chief Engineer. Ritchard'srole involves working on different types of vessels and operating and maintaining advanced technologies, such as Wartsila's Hybrid Battery Pack. Throughout their career, Ritchard has demonstrated strong leadership skills and a commitment to excellence.

Ritchard Herring Sr. has a diverse education history. From 2002 to 2018, they attended the USCG Merchant Mariner and obtained a degree in Vessel Engineering, specializing as the Chief Engineer of Motor Vessels, Unlimited. In 2016, they attended Dale Carnegie Training for Leadership Training for Managers, where they focused on High Impact Presentations. Additionally, they pursued higher education at the University of New Orleans from 1998 to 1999, studying Exercise Physiology-Physical Therapy. In 1997 to 1998, they took a Correspondence Course in Psychology at Louisiana State University. Before pursuing higher education, they earned their High School Diploma from John Ehret High School in 1991 to 1995. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained the Chief Engineer of Motor Propelled Vessels, Unlimited certification from the U.S. Coast Guard in October 2022. Ritchard also holds the EPA Section 608 Certification - Universal from the US Environmental Protection Agency, acquired in November 2021, and the Basic & Advanced Low Flash Point Fuels (IGF Code) - STCW certification from the USMRC - United States Maritime Resource Center, obtained in February 2021.
