James Meffen

James Meffen serves as the Senior Director of Investments at HASI, focusing on investment underwriting, structuring, and execution within sustainable infrastructure portfolios. Previous roles include Senior Director Finance and CFO for The AES Corporation in Vietnam, where responsibilities encompassed financial oversight for substantial joint ventures, and Treasurer for the Eurasia region, managing company financings and debt compliance. James also directed the Project Finance Center of Excellence at AES, advising on capital structuring across global markets, and served as Director of Structured Finance at the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation, leading renewable energy project financing. Early career experiences included roles at the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation and BB&T, with a strong foundation in structured finance and investment strategies. James holds an MBA in International Business Finance from The George Washington University School of Business and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Gordon College.
