William Backstrom

William Backstrom has extensive experience in the engineering and product management fields, currently serving as Product Strategy Lead and Electrification Solutions Manager at Hastings Deering since December 2017. Previous roles at Hastings Deering include Product Manager for Wheel Loaders & Hard Rock Underground and Application Engineer. Prior to this, William was a Mechanical Design Engineer at Mine Energy Solutions Pty Ltd and a Mechanical Engineer at Heal Manufacturing Pty Ltd. An early career experience includes time as an Undergraduate Engineer at JOHN HOLLAND QUEENSLAND PTY LTD. William holds a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Queensland and a Certificate IV in Workplace Health & Safety from Foundation Education. William's foundational education was completed at Brisbane Grammar School.
