Christy Shaffer

Christy L. Shaffer is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the life sciences and biotechnology sectors. As a General Partner at Hatteras Venture Partners since 2011, Shaffer leads Hatteras Discovery, focusing on early-stage technology investments in life sciences. Current portfolio companies include Clearside BioMedical, G1 Therapeutics, and Blink Bio. Shaffer also serves on various boards, including the Museum of Life and Science, RTI International, Artizan Biosciences, Trefoil Therapeutics, and Clearside Biomedical. Notably, Shaffer is a member of the Burroughs Wellcome Fund's Regulatory Initiative advisory board and has held leadership positions at the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics and the Morehead Planetarium and Science Center. Shaffer holds a Ph.D. in Pharmacology from The University of Tennessee Health Science Center.
