Heather Madsen

Heather Madsen is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the life sciences and healthcare sectors. Currently serving as an Operating Partner and Entrepreneur in Residence at Hatteras Venture Partners since February 2024, Madsen also holds positions as an Independent Board Director for Inimmune and a Board Observer for Huma.ai. Madsen's previous roles include Special Advisor at Artizan Biosciences from August 2022 to January 2024, and various leadership positions at ViiV Healthcare from September 2018 to December 2023, including Head of Translational Research and Head of HIV Cure. In addition, Madsen has contributed as an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and was a member of the Scientific Advisory Board at Qura Therapeutics. Madsen's career at GSK spanned nearly 17 years, during which time Madsen held roles such as Therapy Area Lead and Executive Director of Research. Madsen earned a PhD in Evolutionary Genetics from the University of California, Riverside, from 1997 to 2003.
