Zac Elletson has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in design and fine art. Starting in 2011, Zac worked as a Graphic Designer at Whole Foods Market, gaining experience in in-house digital/print design and honing skills in visual communication. In 2014, Zac pursued a career as a Fine Artist, establishing representation in galleries across multiple states and winning notable contests and awards.
In 2018, Zac transitioned back to the design industry, first as a UI Designer at Fyresite, then as an Interaction Designer at Integrate Inc. In these roles, Zac played a key role in establishing best practices for design processes, testing design tools, and implementing a lean UX framework. Zac also made significant contributions to improving usability and saving user time by overhauling reporting frameworks.
In 2020, Zac joined Trainual as a Product Designer, where they were instrumental in architecting a design system and delivering consistent, high-quality work on large and risky projects. Zac also contributed to shaping best practices for design operations and played a key role in the company's rapid pivot into the Business playbook category.
Zac's passion for UX and psychology led them to their next role at Designlab in 2020, where they served as a UX Academy Mentor, teaching foundational UX/UI skills and contributing to the design community.
Most recently, Zac joined Hauler Hero in 2022 as a UX Manager.
Zac Elletson's education history starts with their enrollment at Designlab in 2018, where they obtained a UX certification in User Experience. Prior to that, they pursued a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Classical Drawing & Painting from Classical Art Online, completing their degree from 2009 to 2012. In 2008, they attended the University of Advancing Technology to study Game Design, although no specific degree was mentioned. Before that, from 2006 to 2007, Zac studied Photography at Montana State University-Bozeman. In addition to their formal education, Zac has earned several certifications, including UX Management: Strategy & Tactics from The Interaction Design Foundation in November 2021, and a Certificate of Membership from The Interaction Design Foundation, User Experience Professionals Association (UXPA) DC Metro Chapter, and AIGA Design in October 2018. 🛠zac has also obtained a Certificate of Membership from Designlab in July 2020 and completed the UX Academy program at Designlab in October 2018.
